Oliver and the Secret Garden

Children’s bedtime stories: There lived a curious boy called Oliver in a sun-flooded little village. He adored explorations, daydreaming about magical adventures. One day, while wandering near his home, he came across a rusty old gate, which was hidden behind a thick hedge. The gate appeared mysterious, and Oliver’s heart was accelerated with excitement.

He wondered aloud what could be lurking behind the gate. Gently pushing it open, he discovered that behind it lay a garden breathtaking in its beauty in all the vibrant colors of blooms, the sparkle of streams, and the seeming whispers of trees.

Wow! ended Oliver, stepping inside. There was the most heavenly scent of roses in bloom and fresh grass. He went a little way into the garden and was arrested by what he saw: the flowers danced – they twirled about like girls dancing at a party.

Hello there! Welcome to the Secret Garden!” shouted a sweet little voice. Oliver turned around and made out a very small fairy with shiny wings fluttering toward him.

“I am Flora,” she said with a smile. “I have been waiting for somebody like you to come and play!”

Oliver’s eyes grew wide with delight. “A fairy! This is marvelous! What kind of magic do you have?”

Flora giggled. “I can make flowers bloom and help animals find their way home! But I need your help today.”

“What do you need?” Oliver asked eagerly.

“Here’s a little bird called Pip who, having lost her way, needs to get back up to her nest high in that oak tree,” said Flora, pointing up at a tall oak with a cozy nest atop it.

“I’ll help Pip!” exclaimed Oliver, feeling brave. Together, with a little broom of magic dust, they flew up to the tree. When they reached the nest, there sat poor Pip looking sad and confused.

“Don’t worry, Pip! We’re here to help you!” Oliver said gently.

Pip chirped happily. “Thanks! I got lost while playing with friends.”

Oliver smiled and said, “Let’s get you back home!” With Flora’s guidance, they helped Pip fly back to her nest safely. The little bird was so appreciative that she flapped her wings to show joy.

“Thanks for helping me!” Pip chirped. “You’re very brave!”

Oliver beamed with joy as he looked at Pip settle back into her nest. “It was fun helping you!”

Flora clapped her hands in glee. “You did super, Oliver! You were kind and brave today.”

As they floated down to the garden floor, Flora sprinkled some fairy dust on Oliver’s head. “Now you have a little of your own special magic! Remember that kindness is the greatest magic of all.”.

Oliver smiled. Helping others made him feel special inside. With the sun beginning to set he knew it was time to go home, casting shades of gold through the garden.

“I’ll come back and visit!” Oliver promised waving goodbye to Flora, and the dancing flowers.

When he went back, he narrated his adventure to his family and had a lot more to talk about, telling them of the magical garden and how he had helped Pip find her way to it.
